Favorite Moment as a High School Student

Image
My favorite moment in the 9th grade is actually sing my advisory teacher, Mr. Bui smile for the first time. I don't know why he looked upset all the time, maybe he didn't like his career, maybe he hated my class, who knows that the real mystery in our advisory class. But one day he got the chance to take 10 of his advisory students to Knotts Berry Farm and I got to go. I remember being near Ghost Rider when I got to see him smile. And actually I saw him smile for the rest of the day after that. That day was the only day out of my freshman year that I saw him smile. My favorite moment in the 10th grade is doing my first marathon. On the day of March 19th 2015. That day I couldn't believe that I was standing in front of the starting line at the Dodger's Stadium. I remember I would jog and jog non stop. The crowd could cheer for the runners that is going through this wild adventure. I also remember the pain that I have on my thighs and feet. It felt intense soreness an...

Favorite Moment as a Senior At Simon Tech

My favorite moment as a senior at Simontech is going to the Northern Trip. I loved visiting San Francisco to go see other colleges and being out of Los Angeles. Schools that I really liked was UC Santa Cruz, Stanford, and UC Davis. I actually never thought of going to see San Francisco ever, it is kind of like Los Angeles, except that it is surrounded by water and bridges. I also loved photo bombing people (Esther) XD

Favorite moment in Gov/Econ Class

My favorite moment in this class was the moments where we are able to do current events in the classroom. I always looked forward to current events to know what is going on in this crazy world we live in. I like that we shared our opinions about the topics that were shown. It gives everyone a new perspective on those topics. I also love the moments where Mr. Rocha would do silly little pranks on everyone. This usually ends up with people having tape on their back. I really loved it when he got Juan Sanchez with two big pieces of tape on his back and did not even notice.

Citizen Topic 3

I have been hearing a lot about free college. That students shouldn't have a financial burden while going through their studies. It sounds great and all but in reality it just won't work for long. For me personally, I don't like it when I ask for money. Most of the time I struggle asking money from my parents. But back to the topic, I say that it won't last long because I hear that the plan is basically sucking up from the rich and using that money to pay for students colleges. You see, the rich also has things to pay as well such as bills, food, and other expenses that they are pleased to spend their money on. Remember that the rich also as a limited amount of money to spend too. This free college is basically stealing from the rich and giving the money to people that want degrees such as psychology. The rich should have the option to donate to schools of their choice, but not pass some law that will take more money from the rich and soon get th...

Citizen Topic 2

For this topic I want to talk about Guns. As a citizen that is living in Los Angeles, CA, I feel that gun laws here are really strict. Soon enough you will have to get a permit for just buying the bullets itself. It is really hard to get a gun, especially in the Los Angeles County. I believe that at this point, California is stripping away the gun rights from the law abiding citizens. Many people believe that taking away guns completely will drop gun violence. If anything it is only going higher. In Ireland when gun control passed, the gun violence increased a few years after this passed. Especially the case for Chicago, they have one of the strictest gun control in america and gun violence there is horrible. In March 1, 2017 Chicago had 766 homicides, more than Los Angeles and New York. If anything, the government is arming the thieves, gangs, and murders with gun than the law abiding citizens of america.           For ...

Citizen Topic 1

One of the three topics that I feel is important as a US Citizen is Freedom of Speech. What makes America one of the freest countries is because their citizens have a voice to make america a better place.  People are able to protest and voice their own opinions without fearing companies to sue them or being harmed. Many people are able to choose what they want to be in life such as a medical doctor or a lawyer.  Without the freedom of speech, many things would not progress in america such as workers rights and women's voting rights. The government would also take control of the media such as radio and news. Reports would fear the lost of their jobs and being arrested by the government. Protests and strikes will be struck down quickly with authorized officials. People would also be forced in jobs that they have the greatest skill set and everyone will be paid the same.
