Citizen Topic 3
I have been hearing a lot about free college. That students shouldn't have a financial burden while going through their studies. It sounds great and all but in reality it just won't work for long. For me personally, I don't like it when I ask for money. Most of the time I struggle asking money from my parents. But back to the topic, I say that it won't last long because I hear that the plan is basically sucking up from the rich and using that money to pay for students colleges. You see, the rich also has things to pay as well such as bills, food, and other expenses that they are pleased to spend their money on. Remember that the rich also as a limited amount of money to spend too. This free college is basically stealing from the rich and giving the money to people that want degrees such as psychology. The rich should have the option to donate to schools of their choice, but not pass some law that will take more money from the rich and soon get them in dept.
Yes college is expensive but there are ways to ease your dept. One, financial aid can help you by giving you Pell grants and government loans. Second, there are scholarships from companies and from the school of your choice. Next, there is an alternative route which most people are afraid to take is private loans. This is borrowing from companies or banks but most of the time you will have to pay during school and will have a higher interest rate. I, myself am signing up for a private loan. Yes it can be scary but you will pay it off by working during school and getting a degree that will pay it off. Some people make the case that they can't pay for college or that college is too expensive. That can be by the choice of your college. My brother is actually going to Cal State LA and he is basically covered with Financial Aid and the State Grant.
Basically the whole big picture is that you should take care of your things. Now one else should take the responsibility to pay for your stuff. Things should not be easy in life, but there are resources that will help you get through those tough times. Don't worry about taking risks. The ones that makes smart risks will be more successful in life.
